The Passwell Cosy Heat Pad is designed to provide essential warmth for sick, young, or weakened animals and birds, making it a vital tool for their care. It serves multiple purposes, including offering warmth in hanging pouches for orphaned marsupials by placing the pad at the back of the pouch with insulation between the pad and the animal, on veterinary operating tables and recovery areas, in reptile enclosures at one end to allow movement to and from the heat, under or inside boxes and cages for birds and animals, and beneath dog and cat bedding with protection against chewing. Usage instructions include plugging the pad into a standard 240-volt outlet and allowing the pad to gently warm the area beneath the animal, ensuring the animal can move away if it becomes too warm. The pad's surface temperature typically reaches 15-20°C above ambient temperature. Monitoring the resting temperature for the animal with a thermometer is advised to maintain it between 20°C and 35°C, varying with the animal's age and species, and consulting a vet or experienced carer if in doubt. Precautionary measures suggest closer proximity to the pad in cooler conditions (below 10°C) and insulation with woolen fabric in warmer conditions (above 10°C) to prevent heat stress, aided by an automatic cut-off switch in the pad. For cleaning, a damp cloth or sponge should be used on the outer PVC cover, avoiding immersion in water and unplugging before cleaning. The pad measures 260mm by 360mm, with a soft, non-toxic PVC cover, operates on 240 volts and 10 watts, and features high-temperature protection with its cut-off switch.
